Benamôr was founded in 1925 in Lisbon by a mysterious pharmacist who produced miraculous ointments in his laboratory at Campo Grande nº189.
In his handmade Beauty Recipes, he utilized his signature scents and natural ingredients grown under the sun of Portugal, such as lemon, rose, aloe Vera, and almond oil.
It was an instant hit, packed in exquisite Art Deco tubes, and all of the Lisbon Belles got hooked to it, even Queen Amélie herself.

Some of Portugal’s most famous beauty formulae were born in Benamôr, including Créme de Rosto, a miracle face cream containing rose extract that gives ladies an instant glow and has stayed unchanged since its origin. Two of the company’s most popular products were Alantone hand cream and Bronzaline.
