Yes, Niche Story was founded in 2019. However, we have a vast amount of experience in the industry. Our management team has been active in the beauty industry for over 15 years, and on a global scale.

What are niche perfumes?

‘Niche’ is the name given to perfumes which are often interesting, unusual, special, difficult to find – and sometimes pricey, too. There has been a huge rise in ‘niche’ perfumery, in the past few years, with many fascinating new names appearing on the fragrance scene. They all work with the same ‘palette’ of fragrance ingredients, but often the niche perfumers try daring combinations, or are inspired by very personal events and experiences. All fragrances tell a story, and exploring ‘niche’ perfumes can be a great way to learn about the olfactory universe.

Yes. Supplying non-genuine goods is a criminal offence and would put our company and customers at risk of legal action, and liable for damages. We have an established and trusted supplier network.

What is the shelf life of fragrances?

The shelf life begins with the first spray. Once the scent has been introduced to air, allowing for 3 years shelf life if it is stored properly.

Where is the best place to store my fragrance?

The best place to store your fragrance should be in a dark and cool space with stable temperature. Light and high temperatures should be avoided.

How do I choose the best fragrance for me?

How can I know the expiration date of fragrances?

There is no “strict” expiration date for perfume unlike cosmetic products, but an optimal date of use. The advice period is 36 months; however, this depends on the storage conditions which should be without light, no humidity, and no warm temperature.

I received my order and there are damaged items. What should I do?

All damages, leakages, missing items etc., need to be reported within 48 hours of the order being received. We recommend you check the carton thoroughly when the delivery arrives and photograph any damages inside and outside the carton. In case of any damaged orders please send photographs to us via email along with details of the damage. We can then issue refunds or replacements where appropriate.

What if I want to return my fragrance?

We hope that you will love your order. However, if for any reason you are not satisfied or you wish to cancel your order, you may return it for a refund within 14 days of delivery so long as it is unopened and in its original condition.
To return a product, please contact us, and we will arrange a collection for you.
Returns will only be accepted via this procedure as we cannot guarantee the safety of the bottles with anyone other than our approved couriers. Please note that the goods are your responsibility until they reach us.
We will then issue a refund or offer an exchange once the product has been received if it meets our conditions for resale.
We cannot accept returns which have been used, altered or damaged.
If you receive a product which has been damaged during delivery or appears to be faulty please contact us within 2-
Please do not destroy or throw away any product, even if you suspect it to be faulty, before you have spoken to us. Doing so may affect any refund or replacement that you may be entitled to.

What happens if I am not in to accept my order?

Depending on the delivery method selected, if no one is available at your nominated address to take delivery, the courier may attempt to leave your parcel with a neighbour, reattempt delivery the next working day or send your parcel to your local depot for collection. You will receive an email or text message from the courier to detail where your parcel has been left. If you fail to pick up your parcel from your local depot or arrange a re-delivery with the courier service, the parcel will be returned to our warehouse and you will be refunded for the product you have not received. However, please note that we will not reimburse any delivery costs.

I haven’t received any order confirmation email, what should I do ?

Please send an email to sr@nichestory.eu so we can check that your order has been received successfully. Occasionally confirmation emails are delayed or filtered to spam but this should be easy to resolve.

I changed my mind, can I cancel my order?

We know it happens sometimes. Email us as soon as you can on sr@nichestory.eu and as long as you catch us before your order has been shipped, we’ll be able to cancel it for you.

Where will my order be sent from?

Most orders will be packed and sent from our warehouse. We partner with other brands and, in some cases, orders will be sent directly from their warehouse. When we send you an order confirmation email, we will let you know where your order is being sent from.

Why has Niche Story cancelled my order?

We do our best to prepare your order with care. If something is not quite right, we may have to cancel your order. In these instances, you will be notified by email and issued a full refund shortly after. If you need further assistance, please contact our Customer Service team.

Can I make changes to my order?

While we may not always be able to make changes to your order, you can contact our Customer Service team for extra items to be sent in separated shipment with free of charge shipping , and unwanted items can easily be sent back to us using our free returns service.

What do I do if the package looks damaged when I receive it?

If you are present on delivery, do not accept the package and inform us immediately through email , Phone or whats app.
If it is delivered to you, please contact us and we’ll send you the return label within one working day.

I have some difficulties to place my order. What should I do?

If you encounter difficulties to place your order, we invite you to preferably use Google Chrome browser and to delete your cache and your internet cookies.

What are head / heart / base notes?

We’re going to take you into the details here. Perfumes are designed according to an olfactory pyramid. When you spray a fragrance, the first elements you notice are the head notes. They’re normally quite fresh and sharp and only last a couple of minutes in the air. As they dissipate, you’ll begin to smell the heart notes coming through and they’ll stay with you for 1-2 hours. The scents that stay on your skin for the whole day are the base notes. They’ll become part of your daily life.

How long can I keep my perfume for?

An eau de parfum can be kept for several years, though we recommend using it within two. It’ll smell better before it starts to age.

How long will my perfume last?

This depends on the condition in which it is stored, and whether you have started using the fragrance or not. We generally advise that you use your fragrance within 2-3 years from when you have started using the product.
If the product has not yet been sprayed, it can last a lot longer than 3 years. As soon as the product has been sprayed or opened, it allows oxygen into the bottle and the ingredients will begin to oxidise.
This is a process that will happen over time but the more oxygen is in the bottle , the quicker the oxidisation will happen.
And We would advise to store the bottle in a cool dark location, away from light and heat to ensure it is not affected by changes in temperature.

How can I make my fragrance last longer?

There are methods of prolonging Fragrances and these do vary from person to person. Making sure your skin is well moisturised, and body oils are great for this.
during winter when the temperature is lower and we are exposed to heating, our skin is drier and does not retain the fragrance in the way well moisturised skin does, and conversely if the weather is warm and your skin perspires the natural oils from your skin can remove the scent from your skin. Therefore spraying the fragrance on your clothing as well as your skin will help to retain the scent for a longer duration.

Eau de toilette vs eau de parfum: What’s the difference?

The difference is simply the amount or concentration of oils in the fragrance. Eau de parfum has a higher concentration than eau de toilette, making it a stronger fragrance. There is also pure perfume, which has the highest concentration, and eau de cologne, which has the lowest concentration of oils.

Are any of your perfumes tested on animals?

All of the fragrances stocked at Niche Story are produced with accordance to IFRA regulations. Some are even 100% allergen free. None of the products we stock are tested on animals.

Are your products genuine?

Yes, every purchase on our e-shop comes with three complimentary samples.

Do you sell samples?

We only sell a discovery set by selected brands.

Why do perfumes smell different on different people?

Your own body chemistry affects how different notes react on your skin. Anything that affects the “natural” smell of your skin, such as stress, hormonal changes, your current diet or medications, might change how a perfume smells on you.

Why can’t I smell my own perfume after several minutes?

The nose becomes desensitized and quickly gets used to the notes of your perfume. You may not be able to smell it at all after 30-40 minutes, although your friends and colleagues may still be able to.

How do I choose perfume as a gift?

It’s difficult, but not impossible. If you know what that person wears, you have the choices: buy a bottle of exactly the same perfume, if you want to go for something different, but a likely ‘hit’, we suggest you contact us through email or whats app. as long as you have an idea of a perfume your friend/relation wears, our advisor can make some clever recommendations. If you don’t know at all what someone likes, we would probably recommend a gift voucher for a fragrance. Just because you like the way something smells, that doesn’t mean someone else will…

Can perfume last all day?

Perfume can last four to six hours (or even longer), depending on the ingredients – and how dry your skin is. (Perfumes dissipate much faster on dry skins.) From the moment you apply: the top notes, or ‘head’ notes last around 5-15 minutes before they disappear. The middle notes last from two to four hours, and make up most of the fragrance. The base notes usually last from four to six hours.

What is a fragrance note?

Note in a perfume is an individual element – for instance, lemon, jasmine, rose, apple, sandalwood, and the many thousands of other flowers, herbs, spices and woods that perfumers use. Together, combining the individual notes, noses create harmonies and compositions. The language of perfumery borrows heavily from the language of music.

What is a fragrance family?

Fragrance families allow you to categorize different perfumes. In fragrance families, the perfumes are divided into groups based on the build-up of ingredients or by specific ingredients. For example: in this way you can classify all floral scents in the floral fragrance family. Citrus fragrances are in the citrus fragrance family.
The Woody family take you to a campfire in the forest Classic woody base notes of leather, oud and sandalwood team up to create a distinctive musky and smoky scent.

The Green family that remind you of nature. Whether your heart goes out to lovely flower gardens or rugged mountain areas.

The Oriental family are spicy, warm scents. They are often sensual and seductive. These perfumes are surprisingly mysterious; you can’t help but fantasize about long, passionate nights.

The Fruity family is a style for colorful spirits who go outside when the sun is out, drink cocktails on the beach and laugh with friends.

The Floral family: ideal for when you want to surround yourself with a subtle, romantic scent. this family is elegant and can vary from cuddly and friendly to seductive and confident.

The Aquatic family remind you of the sea. The water elements in the heart of the perfumes evoke the feeling of a breezy day at the beach.

The Citrus family are fresh, light, sparkling scents that feel like a summer vacation and where citrus fruits play the main role.

Perfume doesn’t last on me. What do you suggest?

Many people feel that perfume doesn’t last on them!
Here are some of the common reasons:
Daily Perfume
if you wear a perfume for a long time, your nose will have become used to it. Changing your perfume regularly would be a solution.
Perfume Concentration
A higher perfume concentration might better match your expectations and needs.
Changed Perfume Formula
Sometimes manufacturer may have had to change the formula, as some ingredients become unavailable or have been discovered to be unsafe, which might explain why they don’t last.
Perfume Type
Switching to a perfume that is classified as Oriental, Aromatic, Fougere, Chypre, Woody or Amber, will give you more better longevity.
Dry Skin
It may be that your skin is dry.
Applying a little bit of body oil or lotion to your skin before you use your perfume may be a solution. Or you can choose an alcohol-free or oil-based perfume.

How can I track my order?

Can I request that my order be delivered to a different address?

Yes. If ordering online please select this option at checkout providing the full address, contact name and telephone number. If ordering by telephone our team will be happy to take an alternative delivery address.


We process and ship orders during our general business hours from Monday to Friday, except on national holidays. Orders received by noon are generally dispatched on the next working day. Once we have sent your order, you will be notified by e-mail. In case of DHL deliveries, the tracking number of your shipment is also indicated. You can check the delivery status via the link in your confirmation e-mail.

How do I check the progress of my order?

As soon as your order has been shipped, you’ll receive an email from us with a tracking number and a link to follow its progress.

What VAT is charged on my order?

If you are buying goods for delivery to an EU address, then we will charge Germany VAT where applicable. The price is presented on the Euro prices on the website.
If you are buying goods for delivery to a non-EU address, then we will deduct Germany VAT where applicable.

Is payment and order processing on the website secure?

Payment processing on our platform is 100% secure. Your safety is important to us.

Can I refund my fragrance ?

Refunds will be processed onto the same payment method used to make the original purchase.
These returns will be subject to the return policy.
We reserve the right to refuse to refund or exchange any product that does not meet the above requirements.

When will I receive my refund?

All refunds will be credited to your original form of payment.
If you return an item to Niche Story, the refunded amount will be applied to your credit card. Depending on your financial institution, you may see that refund within 3–5 business days. If you return an item to us by DHL Paket, we usually receive it within 4–10 business days. Once the item is received, we will process your refund. Depending on your financial institution, you may see that refund on your credit card within 3–5 business days.

Is your prices including the customs duties and shipping cost?

Our prices include statutory VAT, but are net of shipping costs. Any customs duties and similar public charges shall be borne by the customer.


You will receive your order confirmation by email. Your receipt will also be sent along with your package to the address you provided.
